Jones Magnet Middle School celebrates Black History Month with displays and contest

Black History Month was highlighted at Jones Magnet Middle School with displays and a ‘Guess Who?’ contest for students. 

Jones social studies teacher Bernette Guthrie organized a very engaging presentation that featured beautiful artwork and artifacts from staff members that displayed the rich culture of African Americans.

Anthony Wardrett, Jones security officer and exceptional artist, drew 12 influential Black Americans on the glass in front of the main office. Each week during the month of February, students were encouraged to guess all 12 individuals and submit their correct answers for a free lunch from Chick-fil-A.
