Music students earn placement in All-District Band and Chorus

Congratulations to the following students for auditioning and earning placement in the Virginia Music Educators Association (VBODA and VCDA) All-District VIII Band and Chorus ensembles. Student audition preparations occurred at their school with their band and chorus teacher in the first nine weeks. Auditions took place in the second nine weeks. Concert rehearsals and performances were held over the last two weekends.

Thank you to all families and administrators who attended the concerts to support the young people.

“All of these students represent the best musicians in their schools,” said Kelly Dee, visual and performing arts curriculum leader. “Many of these students started in the HCS Elementary Honors Chorus, moved to the HCS Honor Band and Chorus, and progressed to the All-District Band and Chorus. Some also earned the honor of auditioning for the All-State Band and Chorus. Each student has the skill and ability to focus, collaborate, and communicate with their high-achieving peers from across the region. The students, teachers, families, and administrators have much to be proud of.”
