Leah Hutchinson, fifth grader at Phillips Elementary School, gives opening at the March 27 School Board meeting

 

Leah Hutchinson, a fifth-grade student at Phillips Elementary School, had the honor of delivering the opening remarks at the School Board meeting on March 27, 2024. She recited the poem Word Builder by Ann Whitford Paul.

Leah enjoys swimming, art, crocheting, and listening to stories. She also likes cats, playing with her sister, and going to the pool. She said she loves seeing people get along.

Leah was accompanied at the meeting by her mother, sister, Phillips principal Dr. Rohan Cumberbatch-Smith, and her teacher Angela Dandridge.
