Jeremy Payne of Tarrant Middle School receives recognition from HAEOP

Jeremy Payne, a school technology specialist at Tarrant Middle School, was honored by the Hampton Association of Educational Office Professionals (HAEOP) on October 27, 2023. HAEOP president Joy Charbonneau, vice president Kay Ryan, Tarrant principal Carla Montgomery, teacher librarian Rosario Conn, and staff, surprised Payne at the school.

Payne was nominated by Conn, teacher librarian at Tarrant. She said the following, “Mr. Payne is one of the main backbones in our school. He is always pleasant and patient with staff and students. He is very dedicated to HCS and the Tarrant Middle School family – he even came in last year during his vacation time to help me out with Chromebooks. He is so deserving to be recognized for his hard work and dedication.”

The recognition was created by HAEOP in the 2022-2023 school year as a way to recognize employees. Any employee in the school division can nominate any office professional to be recognized and state why this person is deserving of the recognition. Nominations are reviewed each month and the winning recipient is chosen at random. Members of HAEOP then go to the winner’s school or office and surprise them with a gift basket.
